Beer, Brats, and Bands: Enjoy an Oktoberfest Meal at Biergarten
You’ll feel like you’re transported to Germany and experience its famous Oktoberfest first-hand when you dine at Biergarten Restaurant, located in the World Showcase at Epcot. This table service restaurant is found at the Germany Pavilion and offers guests a chance to sample classic German cuisine in a fun setting. Biergarten is open for lunch and dinner and is an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet. If you’re on the Disney Dining Plan, this restaurant is 1 table service credit and is a great way to try lots of new flavors and some favorites too. It’s also pretty popular as an affordable way to experience dining packages for events like the Candlelight Processional or Food and Wine Festival concert series. Let’s take a look at all this restaurant has to offer.
Take a Trip to Germany: Dining Inside Biergarten
Though Biergarten is a restaurant inside a building, you’d swear you were dining outside at Oktoberfest. The inside is cleverly decorated to look like you’re outside at Munich celebrating this yearly festival featuring good food and great beer. It looks like permanent twilight inside, so it will be a little dark but not quite as hard to see as other dimly lit restaurants like Sci-Fi Dine In at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Biergarten is set with long communal tables. Because Oktoberfest is all about friends and family, you’ll be joining other Disney guests at these shared tables. So, if getting to know strangers isn’t something you’re up for, you may want to pass on Biergarten. Still, it’s a great way to have fun as a group and perfect to visit if you have a large party dining there.
There are two levels in the restaurant. The bottom level includes a main stage where the Oompah Band plays on a daily basis. They play every hour or so, depending on the time of year. Their lively music is great for dancing the Polka near the stage or singing a classic German drinking song. If you visit during the holiday season, you’ll even be treated to holiday songs.
Overall, you’ll find the inside of Biergarten to be really charming and a fun place to dine.
Biergarten Buffet: Lunch and Dinner Options at Biergarten
Of course, if you’re like me, it’s all about the food. You definitely will not go hungry at Biergarten. Because this restaurant is all-you-care-to-enjoy, you’ll be able to get your fill on brats, chicken, pork schnitzel, spatzle and more. The salad bar features everything from potato salad to house-made pickles. Plus, the restaurant features a carving station, seasonal soups, and classic German side dishes like red cabbage.
Desserts include Black Forest Cake, Apple Strudel, and lots of other amazing German pastries, so do make sure to save room. And, if you’re a beer drinker, don’t forget to order a beer flight or the impressive liter of beer. It’s the best way to experience Oktoberfest at Biergarten!
If you have a special dietary need, don’t worry too much about getting options here. There are plenty of gluten free and even vegetarian and vegan options. In fact, I know quite a few vegetarians who find Biergarten to be a great place to dine. They skip the meat but load up on tons of side dishes and desserts galore. So, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Bavarian Delights: Oktoberfest Every Day at Biergarten
When it comes to great food and amazing atmosphere, Biergarten can’t be beat. It’s one of the most fun and lively dining locations at Epcot. As a buffet, its prices are some of the most reasonable and are definitely the most filling. If you’re looking to be more budget-conscious, dine at lunch instead of dinner. Your meal will be virtually the same, and you’ll save a few dollars too. Plus, the Oompah Band plays at lunch, so you won’t be missing out on any entertainment. Overall, if you visit Biergarten at Epcot, you’re going to have a great meal at reasonable prices with a fun theme.
