What to do at Coronado Springs Resort

This resort offers more than just a place to sleep while visiting Walt Disney World parks. Because it hosts a large convention center as well as guest rooms, it offers a number of other amenities that appeal to business travellers as well as families.

Foremost is the La Vida Health Club. The health club features a full-service spa and salon, as well as fitness equipment. This is a great way to spend some downtime during your stay and come back refreshed.

If it’s fun in the sun you are after, this resort has four pools available. There is a leisure pool designed for lounging and cooling off in each area of the resort. However, the big pool at this resort is the Dig Site, a  swimming pool complex crowned by a large Mayan-style pyramid.

However, there is more family fun offered here. This resort has several activities suited to kids of all ages. Coronado Springs is one of the Walt Disney World resorts that offers complimentary campfires and outdoor movie showings. However, not all days can be spent out in the sun. If indoor fun is in order, the Iguana Arcade offers all-ages video games.

Rooms and Suites

Coronado Springs Resort offers a number of different kinds of rooms and suites to suit many budgets. Wrapped around Lago Dorado, the resort is divided up into four areas:

  • El Centro, which houses the front desk and is the gateway to the convention center areas
  • Ranchos, which are furthest from El Centro. These are pueblo-style buildings that have 3 to 5 floors.
  • Cabanas, which are to the north-west of El Centro. These buildings have 2 floors.
  • Casitas, which are to the northeast of El Centro and are the nearest to it.

Rooms at this resort range from double Queen rooms, which sleep four adults, to Executive Suites in the Casitas buildings.

For Business Travelers

Coronado Springs Resort houses a convention center that can hold up to 6,500 attendees. In order to facilitate meeting-goers, the resort offers a number of services geared toward business travelers. This resort boasts complimentary wi-fi. It also hosts a business center that makes shipping, faxing, and imaging easier.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort hosts lots of different dining experiences. If you are seeking a Southwestern experience, the one-of-a-kind Maya Grill offers Nuevo Latino cuisine and a unique atmosphere. Fans of casual dining will also find a place at Las Ventanas Restaurant, which serves casual American fare.

However, a leisurely dinner is not always in the cards. Luckily, this resort boasts several quick-service dining options. Cafe Rix serves light fare, such as pastries, salads, and dessert. Pepper Market is a food court where a little bit of nearly everything is served. Finally, Siestas Cantina serves poolside breakfast for lazy mornings.

There are two different lounges at this resort, as well. The Rix Lounge is an upscale indoor bar that offers light meals and cocktails. In contrast, the Laguna Lounge offers an al fresco experience, serving specialty drinks. Thankfully, this resort also offers childcare so busy parents can enjoy an evening out as well.

These are special events that can range from birthday surprises with Disney characters, to Pirate adventures, to romantic weekends.

Also, this resort offers two different types of bus service to simplify guests’ transit needs. The first is Disney’s Magic Express, a complimentary transit between Orlando International Airport and the resort. The second is courtesy bus service between the resort and all of Disney’s theme and water parks. This resort also offers standard parking for free to all resort guests to make getting around a little easier.

In short, this resort is hardly a hidden gem. It’s a gem that is right out in the open.
