Enjoy an Amazing Modern Stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort
If ever there was an aptly named resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort is it. With a distinct design and layout, the entire resort screams “contemporary.”
With a quick look at the resort’s infamous exterior t’s easy to see where Disney’s Contemporary Resort got its name. The unique A-frame design is one of the most recognizable resorts at Walt Disney World.
Modern design and finishes inside and out give Disney’s Contemporary Resort a modern feel in the truest sense of the word. Of course, in all areas but one. The resort features the same classic, magical Disney service fans (myself included) have come to expect. Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort is the perfect blend of classic meets contemporary.
It’s Deluxe For A Reason
Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort has always been one of my favorite resorts, and for good reason. As one of Disney’s deluxe resorts, the Contemporary Resort features all the bells and whistles you accept from a luxury resort – Disney style. This includes an in-house spa, concierge service, room service, character dining and more! And trust me, it’s the more is what will bring you back time and time again.
Let’s first talk about the resort’s location. Disney’s Contemporary Resort is located within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom. Yes, you read that right, walking distance. Disney’s transportation services, from their buses and boats to monorails are amazing. However, you can’t beat a quick stroll from your room to the main gates of the Magic Kingdom. You can literally go from your door to the parks in a matter of minutes.
Though quick, the walk to the Magic Kingdom is not something to be rushed. Walkways are lined with palm trees, surrounded by views of nearby beaches and the Magic Kingdom in the distance. For this reason, the walk is always one of my favorite parts of our day.
Insider’s Tip: One of our family’s traditions has always been to sneak away from the parks in the afternoon for some downtime. It’s a chance for us to re-charge. First and foremost, it gives us a break from the heat at the hottest and often busiest part of the day. Staying at the Contemporary Resort made our routine so easy. The quick turn around time from park to resort made our break feel justified. Also, their pools are second to none. The Contemporary Resort’s pools are large and inviting for all family members and interests – featuring everything from whirlpools to waterslides.
Why Stay At Disney’s Contemporary Resort?
With spectacular views of the beautiful resort grounds, beaches and the Magic Kingdom, the location of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, in my eyes quite simply can’t be beat. But its proximity to Disney’s most iconic park is not what initially drew me to the property surprisingly, but it’s amenities.
Character dining, in my humble opinion, is a can’t miss element of any Walt Disney World vacation. Chef Mickey’s has long been a family favorite meal. It’s an opportunity for us to get face time with Disney characters while enjoying a delicious, fresh meal. It was our first trip to Chef Mickey’s, which is located on the main floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort that really sold me on the property.I decided right then and there that our next visit would be include a stay at this hotel. With sky-high expectations, I can honestly say our visit not only lived up to them, but also surpassed what I expected.
How You Get Around
The Magic Kingdom isn’t the only Disney attraction that is easy to access from the resort. Disney’s Contemporary Resort also happens to be one of only three Walt Disney World resorts that offer direct monorail service to the Magic Kingdom. Another transfer and you will find yourself at Epcot. You can also hope on a boat and cruise over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Not that you need to leave the resort.
It’s Worth The Visit
Their on-site restaurants are far from food-court variety. For this reason, they provided some of our favorite meals from our entire trip! Aside from dining, Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s amenities feature everything from childcare and yoga to electrical water pageants and family outdoor movies. A night “in” at the resort won’t leave anyone feeling like they missed out on skipping the parks.
